Today I announce that I will not seek re-election to the Kansas House of Representatives from the 24th District. This fall I will be attending graduate school to study business management and law. It is my family’s plan to come back to Kansas after I finish graduate school.
Representing the people of the 24th District in the House of Representatives has been an honor and privilege. I will always be grateful for the opportunity the people of the 24th District gave me to represent them in the Kansas Legislature. I have worked hard with the Johnson County delegation to promote quality public education, job creation and tax fairness for the people of Kansas.
Serving in the Kansas Legislature has been a tremendous gift I cannot ever repay the people of the 24th District. I am proud to have been a part of the district’s 20-year tradition of electing moderate representation to the Kansas House, from Ed O’Malley to Tom Thompson. I hope that this tradition continues and our commitment to investing in public education, creating jobs and promoting tax fairness for all Kansans endures.
Again, I thank the people of the 24th District for the opportunity to serve them for the last four years. Serving the people of Kansas has been a part of our family tradition, and I hope to have another opportunity to serve the people of this wonderful state.
