Kansas Legislature

The Kansas Legislature consists of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The Legislature typically meets in full session once a year, beginning in January and lasting through April. However, the Governor may call a special legislative session if needed.

The House of Representatives has 125 members, each elected to a two -year term. The Senate has 40 members, each elected to a four-year term. There are no term limits for either Senators or Representatives.
